Ankle and Foot


J. Benjamin Jackson, III, M.D joined the University of South Carolina Department of Orthopaedics in 2014 after completing a foot and ankle fellowship at the University of Utah.

Dr. Jackson completed his undergraduate education at Mars Hill College in Asheville, N.C. There he competed in cross country and track and field at the Division II level. He completed medical school at Wake Forest University School of Medicine where he served as student body President. Dr. Jackson completed his orthopaedic residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C., where he won the resident teaching award.

He returns to South Carolina, where he was born, to join the faculty at USC. His clinical interests include patients with injuries and disorders of the foot and ankle. He has a strong interest in research and has written numerous peer reviewed articles and book chapters. He believes that he can improve the outcomes of his patients through quality research and individualized patient care.

Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his wife and four boys and officiating collegiate and professional soccer.
