Biography
Dr. Gripaldo is a citizen of the Philippines . She was educated at the University of the Philippines in Manila, where she earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in April 2002.

In July 2004, Dr. Gripaldo came to the U.S. for internal medicine residency training at Harlem Hospital Center/Columbia University in New York, NY. She was promoted to chief resident and completed her residency training in June 2008. She became Board Certified in Internal Medicine in September 2008 and Board Eligible for Internal Medicine Pulmonary Certification in October 2010. She completed specialized fellowship training in both Pulmonary and Critical Care at the Albert Einstein Medical Center/Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA on June 30, 2011. Dr. Gripaldo’s combined expertise makes her especially well-suited for her duties as a clinical teacher and researcher.

During her graduate medical education, Dr. Gripaldo twice received the University of the Philippines College of Medicine College Scholar award (1997-97, 2001-02) and was recognized as an outstanding medical student by the Philippine General Hospital (2000-01). Dr. Gripaldo’s research record includes a total of twelve publications, including articles in Review in Cardiovascular Medicine and in Infectious Disease in Clinical Practice. Dr. Gripaldo also prepared and gave three poster presentations at the American Thoracic Society Annual Conference (2009-10). Prior to her medical training in the U.S., in 2003 Dr. Gripaldo worked as an outpatient primary care physician with Fansworth Medical Services and Family Life Care Center, both in Manila, Philippines. From 2002-03, she served as a medical correspondent for Medical Observer, a magazine for health care professionals published by the Mosman-Medcom Group, the leading healthcare communications organization in the Philippines.
