Biography Dr. David Lindsie Cone has been on the faculty of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine since 1988. Dr. Cone was appointed to the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine after completing his residency at Richland Memorial Hospital/USC School of Medicine, Columbia, South Carolina.
During his career at the School of Medicine, Dr. Cone has held various positions within the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, including Director of Undergraduate Medical Education, Director of Inpatient Services and Director of Outpatient Procedures. Since 2000 he has served as Director, Hyperbaric Medicine, at Palmetto Health Richland. His interest in hyperbaric medicine has been pursued through grants, publications and invited lectures on the topic. His teaching skills have been recognized as a five-time recipient of the Family Practice Residency Program's Outstanding Teacher honor.
A graduate of Clemson University, Clemson, South Carolina, Dr. Cone holds a bachelor of science in chemistry. He earned a doctor of medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, South Carolina.
Dr. Cone also has a special interest in information technology and currently serves as the School of Medicine Chief Information Officer.
