Dr. Joshua Mann joined the faculty of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in 2002. He serves as Medical Director of Employee/Student Health for the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, Director of the Preventive Medicine Residency Program, University of South Carolina School of Medicine, Columbia, South Carolina and as a medical consultant for South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation.
A graduate of Delta State University, Cleveland, Mississippi, Dr. Mann received a bachelor of science in chemistry. He earned his doctor of medicine from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, Jackson, Mississippi, followed by a master of public health from the University of South Carolina's Arnold School of Public Health. He completed a preventive medicine residency with the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He is board certified in general preventive medicine.
Dr. Mann’s research interests include epidemiology of neuro-developmental disabilities in children, the impact of infectious and inflammatory conditions during pregnancy, health of people with disabilities, religion/ spirituality and health, and epidemiology of mental illness. He serves as an ad hoc peer reviewer for a number of journals and is on the editorial board for the Disability and Health Journal. In 2012, Dr. Mann served as chair of the milestones development committee for the specialty of general preventive medicine.
