Biography Janice Edwards joined USC faculty in 1983 and leads a group of five genetic counselors serving patients with prenatal, preconception, infertility, cancer, Huntington disease and adult genetic concerns. USC Genetic Counseling is also home to the first Master of Science Genetic Counseling education program in the Southeast, now one of only 33 programs in the nation. Ms. Edwards serves as Director of the USC Master of Genetic Counseling education program. She has special interest in the international development of genetic counseling, having founded the Transnational Alliance for Genetic Counseling in 2006. Ms. Edwards has been honored by the National Society of Genetic Counselors with the 2000 Regional Leadership award and in 2010 with the International Award.
