Biography
A Columbia native, Dr. McIntyre returns home to serve the needs of his community and the state.

After completing medical school at the University of South Carolina in 2003, he completed general surgery training at the University of Cincinnati in 2008 and a plastic surgery fellowship at the University of Virginia in 2010. Over a year was then spent specializing in cutting edge reconstructive microsurgery in New Zealand, Australia, and Taiwan.

He will bring regional expertise in a variety of arenas including:
  • Microvascular breast reconstruction (DIEP, MS TRAM, GAP, & TUG perforator flaps)
  • Head and neck reconstruction (ulnar/radial forearm, fibula, Iliac, scapular flaps)
  • Extremity salvage, replantation, and reconstruction
  • Disorders of the facial nerve (nerve grafting, oculoplastics, and functional muscle transfers for cancer, trauma, and stroke patients)


  • As a full spectrum plastic surgeon, Dr. McIntyre will additionally be performing aesthetic surgery with a particular focus on facial, oculoplastic, and breast aesthetic surgery. Dr. McIntyre has lectured both nationally and internationally and has authored several peer-reviewed publications in his field. He is board certified in general surgery and board eligible in plastic surgery.
