Dr. Frank Voss is a 1982 magna cum laude graduate of Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island, with honors in biochemistry. He earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts, in 1986. He completed a general surgery residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts and an orthopaedic surgery residency at Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Program, Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Voss then served as a fellow in reconstructive surgery at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Voss joined the University of South Carolina School of Medicine faculty in 1993. He has served as Director of Medical Education for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery since 1994 and as the department's vice-chair since 1995. His special interests are hip and knee arthroplasty, osteotomies and trauma. He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery, and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Coding and Reimbursement Committee.
