Biography


Dr. Mattox is one of the first board certified fellowship trained urogynecologists in South Carolina. He has been affiliated with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia since 1997. He sees a wide spectrum of patients with pelvic floor disorders including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and bladder pain. He is an accomplished surgeon, performing over 1000 minimally invasive laparoscopic pelvic suspensions and more than 2000 minimally invasive sub-urethral slings. He is an expert in treating vaginal mesh complications. Dr. Mattox is well published in the literature and is a nationally recognized speaker. He has been awarded the CREOG award for excellence in teaching.
